If you want all the power, you must carry all the blame!
-Eurylochus ("Mutiny")
Eurylochus is second in command to Odysseus' crew. He serves as the deuteragonist of EPIC: The Musical.
Personality[]
Eurylochus primarily acts as the voice of the crew, and he does whatever the majority wants, even if it goes against Odysseus’ direct orders. This usually backfires, and he ultimately dooms the crew by killing one of Helios’ cows to eat, causing the sun god to send Zeus to smite the crew.

Trivia[]
- Unlike other characters in the musical who have their own signature instrumental palette consistently played during their scenes, Eurylochus' backing instrument changes throughout the show. From bass in Full Speed Ahead, piano and kick drum in Luck Runs Out, to guitar (Odysseus' instrument) when he tries to take control of the ship in Mutiny. However, the crew always appear as a chorus in the above songs, making their voices in a sense his signature instrument.[1]
- Although it isn't explicitly said during the musical, Eurylochus, just as in the myths, is originally from Same, an island near Ithaca. Jorge confirmed it through the character's great sword, dubbed "the Strongest of Same".[2]
- The great sword was inspired by Guts from Berserk and Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy. Similar to Cloud, Eurylochus also wears a pauldron on his left shoulder while the other one is exposed.
- Although she is never mentioned in the musical, according to Homer, Eurylochus had a wife, Ctimene, who was Odysseus' youngest sister. Thus, Eurylochus is his captain's brother-in-law.
- Ctimene's presence in the musical was canon at least in early drafts in which it was shown how Eurylochus tried to court her. In said draft, she was voiced by Diana Rivera-Herrans, Jorge's sister.[3]
