Jorge Miguel Rivera-Herrans is the creator of EPIC: The Musical and the CEO of Winion Entertainment LLC. He played the roles of Odysseus, the Winions, and Polyphemus.

Biography

Jorge was raised in Dorado, Puerto Rico. He went to school at the University of Notre Dame, where he wrote the musical My Heart Says Go, formerly named Stupid Humans, and began working on EPIC: The Musical.

He first started working on EPIC in June of 2019 in his college dorms for his senior thesis. His goal was to create a musical that was inspired by video games and anime/manga to "emulate their addictive sense of progression". These forms of media heavily inspired him, and their influence is evident throughout the musical.

He began releasing clips and snippets of the musical in January 2021.

He lives in Los Angeles, California.

• He was aiming for a career in medicine before he switched his major to music.
• He has gotten his family to contribute to EPIC in some way.
  • His dad, Mike Rivera, helped him build the booth that EPIC was re-recorded in, was featured in many reference videos, and is the voice of Hephaestus in God Games.
  • His mom, Wanda Herrans, is the voice of Anticlea, Odysseus' mother, in multiple songs, and was featured in many reference videos.
  • His sister, Diana Rivera-Herrans, was a possible inspiration for the Winions and is the voice of the Princess Winion in Dangerous.
• Jorge has also played Usnavi de la Vega in the 2018 South Bend Civic Theatre production of "In The Heights".
• Jorge has also auditioned for Hamilton where he met Armando Julian.
  • Jorge would later go on to meet Lin Manuel Miranda, the creator of both Hamilton and In The Heights.
