Plot[]

Odysseus and his crew land on an island after nearly escaping the wrath of Poseidon. While on shore, Eurylochus tries to tell Odysseus something, only for the latter to dismiss him so Eurylochus and a scouting crew can make sure the island safe. Only Eurylochus comes back from the trip, which immediately concerns Odysseus. Eurylochus tells Odysseus that him and his men met a woman named Circe, who tricked them into coming to her palace and proceeded to turn the rest of the crew into pigs by putting a spell in their meals.

Against Eurylochus' advice, Odysseus decides to go back to try and save his crew. While walking through the forest, a mysterious voice offers Odysseus help in the form of divine intervention. The voice is revealed to be Hermes, who gives Odysseus a magic flower called Moly (although Hermes calls it "Holy Moly"), telling him it will allow him to manifest a creature of his choosing. Hermes then says his goodbyes to his great grandson, as Odysseus goes to confront the sorceress.

As he enters the palace, Odysseus meets Circe and asks her if she harmed his crew. She responds by saying that all she did was reveal who they really are, although Odysseus already knows that she turned them into pigs. Slightly amused by this, Circe tells Odysseus that she is also fighting for someone, her loyal nymphs. She then tries to intimidate Odysseus by summoning her Chimera, only for him to reveal that she can't hurt him because of the Moly that he ate. Odysseus then summons a Cyclops and the two monsters engage in battle on behalf of their summoners. Circe loses and, with no other choice, she pulls out her final card... herself.

Circe tries to seduce Odysseus in an attempt to lower his guard so she can kill him. To her surprise, Odysseus refuses, speaking of his love for his wife Penelope, saying she is the reason he needs go back home. Moved by his love, Circe tells him of a dead prophet named Tiresias who might be able to help him. She decides to free Odysseus' crew from her spell and help them reach the Underworld in the hopes that maybe showing kindness to someone might help them be kinder down the road.

Trivia[]

  • The release of this saga fell on Valentine's Day, which may be a nod to how Talya Sindel, the voice of Circe, is Jorge's girlfriend.
  • In a video[4] that Jorge released, he referenced that a part of Park Güell in Barcelona, Spain, was scenery that made him think of the Circe Saga, specifically the Hypostyle Room.
